Vermicelli is one of the commonly
used food item that used to prepare various recipes mostly like desserts. It is
also used to make soups and other non-vegetarian dishes. In Asian countries
vermicelli noodles are staple food. Vermicelli noodles are more included in
their diet. In India vermicelli is used to make desserts like Payasam,
breakfast dish like upma etc. Indian vermicelli is made up of water, rice or
wheat. Other Asian noodles are made up of flour, water and eggs. Some of them
are Roasted Vermicelli and other is normal plain vermicelli.

1) Proteins and Fiber: Vermicelli contains proteins and
fibers almost same amount. A cup of boiled vermicelli contains 1.5 to 2 gm. of
protein and fiber. Fiber keeps your stomach full for a long time as because its
take up lot of stomach space. Both the soluble and un-soluble fibers help to
keep your stomach full so it is very helpful in weight loss. Protein content in
the vermicelli is just only 3 %of total daily need for human body. Protein
helps to build muscle mass and also helps in repairing damaged muscles. Adding

2) The Zinc Content: Zinc is an
essential for our body especially in strengthening immunity system. Also zinc
plays a major role in development of new cells in the body. Trace minerals of
zinc is also important for brain to function properly and essential for good
memory.
3) The Iron Content: Deficiency of iron is one of the most common nutritional
deficiencies around the world. A cup of boiled vermicelli contains about .25 Mg
or iron which is 2 %of the daily need for women and 3% of daily need for men.
